Thank you, thank you, thank you — Hastings, Warkworth & Trent Hills— for being such welcoming, generous, and wonderfully supportive places for The Gen to call home. It truly takes a village… or in our case, 2 villages, to bring an idea like The Gen to life.
From day one, The Gen has been about community — and it was community that breathed life, love, and laughter into an idea that somehow grew into something bigger, brighter, and far more joyful than we ever imagined.
We’ve all lived through some interesting times over the past ten years — the kind you don’t forget. Incredible highs & challenging lows – from COVID to ELBOWS UP, these communities showed up with resilience, creativity, and heart.
We have loved being part of so many amazing events: Artworth, The Gratitude Project, Magic Under the Stars, The Hastings Waterfront Festival, Festival of Trees, Perfect Pie, Lilac Festival & countless others. If resilience had a middle name, it would definitely belong to The Hills — and we’ve been honoured to be part of it.
A huge shout-out to everyone who supported The Gen Bridge with talent and artisanal flair! From the Hastings Uke Group to fiddle players, singers, storytellers, makers & vendors to Skye Morrison’s ribbons and beyond— the Bridge stage saw it all! And of course, legends are made of simple things… like a truly great BACON on a BUN (BOB), a forever a Gen Bridge classic!
So, we say goodbye —
We have loved every minute of being the curators of this journey we affectionately call The Gen – none of it would have happened without you.
Thank you for one incredible ride!
